What is the cost of home building?
The average cost of a new home construction in Australia works out at $1393 per square metre, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (‘ABS’). Of course, this is just a total average, and cities are going to have a higher cost. In Sydney, you’ll pay between $2,000 – $4,000 per square meter and in Melbourne, you’ll pay between $1,700 – $3,000. Custom built homes will also cost more and the prices above are non-inclusive of the cost of purchasing land, site preparation, and the relevant approvals. Fees for draftsmen and architects are likewise not included.

Obviously, this will take a great deal of thought and contemplation. The good news is that our new home builders offer a number of preset home designs to select from. We can help you with the designs, facts, and figures, but ultimately only you can decide on your ideal home design. We won’t start work until the design has been bulletproofed.
What is a house and land package?
A house and land package is basically when you buy the house and land together. The advantages are that you know the total price upfront for both. This is a HUGE benefit, and it will also save you some cash. There is no negotiation on the package, but it is already at the lowest possible price. Keep in mind that you will still have to sign two contracts, one with the developer and one with the builder. But it is generally a smart deal.
Will my new home be energy efficient?
All of the home designs are built with energy efficiency in mind. Our company is MBA Green Living Accredited and Richard holds a Certificate for BERs ProEnergy rating evaluation. This will result in warmer winters, cooler summers, and huge savings on your electricity bill. Many new homeowners spend a lot of money trying to make their homes energy efficient when this should have been factored into the original design.
